DirectX 9 vs 10:

We are now going to compare the performance of DirectX 9 and 10 with Lost Planet to see which API is the fastest under the latest drivers from Nvidia. The reason I am not going to do a visual comparison is because they are visually identical to each other when using the same exact settings. I will be using the same exact settings so I can get a true apples to apples comparison of the performance in these two modes.

Below is the system I used to benchmark this game:

• Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty 7.1 soundcard
• Western Digital Caviar 500GB 16MB cache
• Vista Ultimate 32bit
