    Final Fantasy 12

How in the world do I remove the status ailment called "Silence".

Fran somehow got it in the middle of one of the battles, and now I just can't seem to get rid of the status effect. I have tried all of these so far and nothing works:

    1. Remedy
    2. Echo Herbs
    3. Save Crystal Heal
    4. Teleport
    5. Reset Game
    6. Killed Her

Is this game totally bugged and I will never be able to cast a spell with her again, or what the hell is the problem here? Every time I go to use Remedy or Echo Erbs, it tells me that it misses her.

    What do I do!?

Also, how in the world do I use Libra?

Echo Herbs, should remove Silence, Remedy's also should, but never heard of an item missing very odd.

Libra what i did was set up with a gambit on the very top of the list so every time it turned off they would cast it, if its on it is working. You only need the Libra gambit on one person that is in the party at the time

I got to head to work if u have any more questions i will check back later

    Re: Final Fantasy 12

Found an answer to the Silence state. I had just earned the Manufacted Nethecite and had equipped it on my strongest Magick dealing charachter thinking it would further boost her own Magick Defense stats. It did exactly that, but I didn't realize it also put her in a silence state to do so.

I'll mess around with Libra later tonight when I get a chance to play them game again. For some reason, I'm just not picking up on how to do Magick very well in this game. I have a few charachters out of the group that I am really trying hard to boost their Magickal properties, but I just can't figure out how to even use the Magick. I have the Licenses purchased, but the only Magick they can create is Cure or Fire. I saw Magick for sale in various shops in my travels, do I need to actually "purchase" the Magick skills before I can use them? I sincerely hope not, that's a fairly odd way of doing the Magick system.

    Thanks!

I need to restart this game sadly, i got like a few hours in but i never bought anything or do side quests , so i go to a point where it was impossible and my party sucked that much they couldn't even kill a few enemies. Problem is it was one of those parts where you can't go back (it even warned me)

    Re: Final Fantasy 12

I think this is the worst Final Fantasy game I have ever played.

Not only has it been 100% linear for the 25hrs I've put into it so far, but they make the License system in a way that you HAVE to play the game a 2nd time after you understand how it works and where the licenses are that you want. Not only until after you start unlocking the Licenses do you really understand where the ones you NEED for specific charachters are at. This is a poor system, and after putting 25hrs into the game already, the only thing I see working for me now is to spend ridiculous amounts of playtime grinding charachters to the point where they can get all the Licenses I was looking for.

I am not impressed at all. The story is fantastic, and what the game does...it does very well. I just feel the whole License system is quite pathetic.

For the magic you have to buy the spells also, in that game you have to buy the spells and skills you want to use

You've got to be kidding me....

Add that to the list of things I don't like. Thanks though.

Sounds like this is a game to avoid.

I personally feel that this is a poor direction that the Final Fantasy games are taking, and I sincerely *hope* that this game doesn't represent future games as well.

They seem to use totally different methods of spells/techniques and that sort of stuff with every game they make, so I'm optimistic that the License system seen in FF12 will not be seen in FF13 or future games. That would be fortunate. The other major issue I have with the game is the linearity so far. It truly is 100% linear for the most part. I have only put in 25hrs of gameplay time so far, but it's been totally linear. This is NOT like any other FF game I have played. I'm not saying this game doesn't open up soon or later, but it doesn't look promising thus far.

As always, the story is fantastic.

    Re: Final Fantasy 12

From what i heard FF13 is the same as 12 in game mechanics, but it was a long time ago... and my memory does progressively get worse day by day .

I just want a FF7 remake (and the earlier titles). (but for the latest hardware not handheld crap)

    Re: Final Fantasy 12

    Finally beat this game tonight!

Took about 75hrs to get through it. I had Vaan at lvl68, and all my other charachters were lvl52-54. The final bosses were actually REALLY easy, I didn't even have a single charachter die on me and all I did was hack at them with normal Attacks. Although, I had my guys all equipped with the best armor/swords that they could buy. One thing that really dissapointed me was the lack of a real need for spells. I casted healing spells like nobody's business of course, but I just had all my guys attack virtually every enemy in the game with melee attacks and I walked through it with no problem. Also, the Espers were useless. I never used a single Esper once...just didn't feel the need for it. Maybe I played through the game half-assed, I don't know. But still, it took quite a long time to get through it and I still didn't do half the stuff...I just follwed the main story line. I did only about 7 hunts. The truly dissapointing part of this game is that all this sidestuff you can do, but I just didn't see the point in spending so much time doing it all. I didn't use any Espers anyway, and I never even came close to needing them. It's sad that they couldn't make them a bit more valuable than they did. It just doesn't feel worth putting in the effort to do anything in the game besides the main storyline. Hell, I didn't even use any Technicks besides Libra and Steal the ENTIRE GAME.

With that out of the way, the main story is FANTASTIC. The ending of this game is one of the very few that I can say I truly felt a sense of closure. It was a great ending to a great story.

I don't like how linear the game appeared to be, but I guess I would still recommend it to anyone thinking about playing it. The story alone is well worth it, plus there are many hunts and sidequests that you can still do.

    The End !!!

    Re: Final Fantasy 12

I tried to play it today... holy crap i forgot how ugly the game is . I was like  when i saw the jaggies.

Good thing i had God of War 2 to bring me back to life, at least that game looks great. (especially for a PS2 game)

    Re: Final Fantasy 12

I was shocked at first too. I played the entire game on my PC monitors though, and the jaggies on those were far worse than my 52" DLP.

After about the first 10hours I was actually use to it, and didn't even think about it any more. I never thought it looked "great" of course, but it was never bad enough to give it any thought after that first initial break-in period.

I tried out Metal Gear Solid 3 also, and that game is far, far worse with the jaggies and visual than Final Fantasy 12. Not sure if I will be able to get use to that one.

Well, I'm definitely going to play through it. I'm just saying I'm not sure I'll ever get use to how bad it looks.
