I have made the decision to mod my case. Since my newly installed Q6600 my wires are not organized any more and it's time for a change on my 1 year old or so case. With the purchase of a new PSU and SATA DVD burner in the future I will be changing even more wire configurations as well as looks and functionality.
Case:
Thermaltake Armor (silver aluminum case)
Plans:
Repaint the case inside & out
Complete custom wiring (splicing, extending, hiding)
Fan control system for all fans (front panel display to help quite the PC)
Lighting effects (this goes along with new paint job, but is an extra feature to it. Case name is known as "Black Light Special" and I am going to bring that name back to life by adding interesting UV reactive clear paint with possible mural style image in case and outside case)
If you have a good modding idea and would like to see it possibly implemented in this mod, please speak up.

The UV that I did with my case. I wish I had laid down more than 2 coats. It doesnt glow as much as I had anticipated under operating conditions.
However, at night, when the machine is shut down, its a spectacle to see.
Otherwise. I would recommend 4 or more coats of reactive for a good effect.

Re: Modding my case!
You saw my stacker after a new paint job on the inside

For the inside of yours Uber, if you're going with uv shit on the inside, you could go in two directions. I'm not really sure which would look better atm, though.
A) You could paint the inside a gloss black, clear coat it (which I will do eventually to mine) to make it even shinnier, and have all the lighting reflecting inside the case like neon lights on a shiny clean black car.
or
B) Go with a matte black finish so that the lighting doesn't reflect. It'll make the uv parts that will light up stand out even more.
It's probably more personal preference, though. For me though, I like the glossiness. The real hell is your life gone wrong.

Re: Modding my case!
I was actually thinking of going with an old school paint look with the flat/matte black look just for that reason of no reflections and UV paint standing out more.

Re: Modding my case!
Yeah, then to add even more to that, you paint some black light reactive graffiti on the inside of the case, behind the motherboard area, too. Not covering the entire inside of the case, but like half the back side centered so you would have 1/4 space above and below the "artwork". Something like this off to the right of your mobo would look pretty kool

The real hell is your life gone wrong.

Re: Modding my case!
It's update time!!!!!
Got my PC painted almost completely.
Ran out of paint, but got the seen areas covered. Need to redo the front panel. Got a couple runs and the paint didn't stick well to the plastic.
Ordering my lights. All UV baby. Going with about 4 to 6, 12" UV Cold Cathodes. Also going to be ordering the UV paint to make the inside a bit interesting.
Everything ripped out. Ready to be cleaned.

Top of case, crappy grey color.

Look at the front of the case without it's front pannel.

The back of the case...oooohhh....ahhhh

After the nice primer/matte finish...well mostly. Ran out when almost finished.

Top of the case without it's top piece.

Starting to put parts back in.

The back side wiring. As you can see I got the parts that you can see when PC is together with black paint, but missed allot.

All drives and wiring done.

Another view angle of wiring all finished up.

Close up of the pig tail SATA cables.

Front panel back on. Notice a couple still unfinished panels...yeah don't huff paint. It wastes your available paint.....that's a joke. I really do mean don't huff the paint though.
