Re: PC upgrade time!!
The ip35 pro is a sweet board (thats why I picked it) just check that the heatpipes make good contact in the pwm area. It is deffinately the hottest spot on the board and the factory hasent seemed to qc it enough. If you get one (like mine) that dosent make good contact it is easy to fix before installing, I didnt though and have been lazy lately and still need to take care of it.
That zalman cooler wont do much to cool the chipset so try to find someway to point a case fan at one of the heatsinks.
Enjoy the new stuff, should be pretty sweet!

Re: PC upgrade time!!
is there any reason you are upgrading?
i want to and have the funds, i just cant justify it with any current software.
maybe i should just buy vista and hope microsoft kills off pc gaming so more people play xbox...i could pay $600 to play aero or whatever it's called.

Re: PC upgrade time!!
My reason is not stemmed from gaming purposes, be it a major plus. I do allot of multi tasking and on my current A64 3500+ and DDR3200 ram it just doesn't cut it for what I do. I could have gone allot cheaper with just an upgrade of my proc to a duel core AMD. But then I would still be stuck with shitty ram and motherboard. It's all really old stuff and it's just time to upgrade as this is the longest I have ever gone without upgrading. First time in a long time I will be able to have the top performance stuff in my build.

Re: PC upgrade time!!
This is a beast compared to my A64 3500+. This is also my first proc with more than one core.

Re: PC upgrade time!!
He was going AMD to stay within a certain budget that he had set. I helped him pick out hardware here and there, but he did most of the research. Although, he recently added in the case. I asked him tonight when I saw this thread what he thought about skipping the case and going with an Intel setup instead since he apparently raised the budget a bit.

Re: PC upgrade time!!
Yeah, money is an issue but if I don't get that case, I think I might go with a Intel Quad-Core set-up. Basically I'd only have to change the MoBo and Chip and the rest of what I have picked out should work.

Re: PC upgrade time!!
Update
Finally got my new PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341002
OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W

Some before and after pics **NOTE: Without having a bunch of time to do a whole lot of anything, the PC is thrashed from dust, and not managing wires when I first got the new setup because I was planning on getting a new PSU anyhow. I don't like letting my PC look lie this and I was disgusted when I looked inside.**
Just a couple things unplugged here

Image of previous PSU - Enermax 420 watt noisetaker *first addition* it's old

New PSU with everything cleaned

Everything put back in, with some useless stuff removed.

Up close pic of the coolness.

The side panel back on, as you can see it's black, the entire case will soon be like this, which means another wiring job later. :
