Looking for partition software for vista 64.

So until I can grab an extra harddrive for storage, I want to create and resize a partition to move my mp3, avi, and iso files onto so I can reinstall a fresh vista. Some dumb bitch downloaded a rootkit while trying to watch porn . I got rid of it but now I blame every software hiccup on it. So what I need is partition software that works in: A) Vista, B) 64-bit, C) on a raid 0 array, D) create partitions over 400 gig. I tried paragon but no 64bit luck. Any suggestions

Vista actually has a built in feature for that.

Well since that was such a simple fix I won't charge this time...

Well I thought it was simple. I kept getting an access denied error. I somehow I got it to shrink 5 gig, then another 50. still not enough. I think it is a defrag problem. I use diskeepper and it had system files at the end of the drive. Still working on it. what a pita

Now Im stumped. I installed vista on the 55 gig partition, made it active and fixed the mbr. still cant resize the partition farther.

So i finally got it done! vista, O&O, and diskkeeper couldn't move the necessary system files in the way. Roxio perfect disk did the trick. so I guess the new vista partiton utility works but still has kinks. But yea its done, backed up my data and running a fresh clean quick Vista!

For future reference, GParted is a good free non-destructive partition editor. It's Linux-based and can be booted from a CD. I've used it many times.

Just note that creating, deleting, and resizing partitions works fine, but if you plan to install windows on the partition then let Windows format it during install. Windows doesn't like it when GParted formats a partition, it complains about how the partition wasn't formatted by Windows (or rather, how it was formatted by another OS).

Excellent advice, just what I would have recommended too. However, I'm pretty sure he would have had to use Perfect Disk to properly defragment the drive before shrinking it. I have never tried to shrink a fragmented drive due to not wanting to waste hours restoring data from dvd backups.
