    Rock band!!! \m/

Well all i got to say it's awesome!!! Was able to play with 2 buddies and my nephew on the drums. Was alot of fun. I ended up doing to vocals because none of them can sing I actually like the vocals and often play on live as the singer. I have only played a little of the drums, but they are HARD! I mean i can play hard difficulty... but unlike the guitar i actually have to practice the drums because they require real coordination. But still alot of fun.

The new fender guitar is kinda odd... I actually hated it at first because unlike the x-plore guitar the strumming button does not have the springy click. The fender is a soft strum with no click at all. But once you get familiar with it it's actually alot of fun to use. The shredding buttons for the end solo's are okay... not as cool as i hoped for but still gets the job done to rack up some fast points in the end. The good stuff about the guitar is the sound options... the guitar has an on the fly sound changer much like a foot peddle would be for changing sounds on a real guitar. The bad thing is that the guitar has a huge fail rate. Mine is fine but it was acting up when my buddy was using it... but he plays way to hard with it... i think its because he plays real guitar and is used to using alot of force.

The drums rock period. I would have to say that the haters of these kinds of games cant na-say the drums in this game. You really need to practice and learn how to use them more so then the guitar from guitar hero. I am trying to play them more as i like to change up what i play online for variety witch this game has allot of. Also, the drum sticks included are real nice wood sticks

The mic is also a ton of fun. I never played the other games that used a mic.. but i knew how it worked from youtube videos. This is also a really hard part of the game because there is going to be alot of songs that are just not in the same range as your voice is... but i still play mostly on medium and hard. What i like about the mic is that the overdrive power "aka star power" they add a heavy echo effect that really makes it fun to just belt out your voice it it sounds clear and very pro sounding even if you sound like crap.

Lastly, does not matter if you play the bass or guitar... they game play is fast. Unlike guitar hero.. they did not crap out on the bass porting. I always found the bass in guitar hero to be a level easier than the guitar part. But now its fun either way.

Oh.. and on more thing, in rock band some songs have a few different solo parts.. and at the begging you trigger a % indicator and it tells you at the end of each solo how well you did and gives you a little rating and adds some booster points to the score.

I could drag this out even more but I am sure most of you are tired of reading my blah blah anyways.

If anyone has any question for me please feel free to ask.. until then keep on rock'N

Cool glad to hear... now only if i didn't have to wait till next year to play it. Good thing next year isn't too far (unless they want to make me wait for ages ). Not sure i'll ever use the mic though, i don't sing infront of anyone unless it's a joke singing.

I will give the drums a good bashing though

Drum it, strum it and sing it with 'Rock Band'

If you’ve ever fantasized about being in a band, you’ve got to check out “Rock Band,” from MTV Games.

The T-rated game gives you a taste of the big time — without ever picking up an instrument. Or, we should say, a real instrument. It lets you strum a guitar controller, bang on a “Rock Band”-ized drum kit, and croon into a special microphone. You’ll play or sing along to any of the game’s 50-plus tunes, including the classics “Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones and “In Bloom” by Nirvana. Plus, your friends can join your virtual band in person — or online.

Reality check: Starting a “Rock Band” group is expensive. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will set you back $169.99, but come bundled with a microphone, a Fender Stratocaster-shaped guitar controller and a drum kit controller. The PlayStation 2 bundle, available Dec. 18, will be a little less, at $159.99.

If you only want to sing and you already have a USB-compatible microphone — even the Xbox 360’s headset will work — you can purchase the game by itself ($59.99, Xbox and PS3; $49.99, PS2). Likewise, if you have a 360 and you only want to play guitar, you can get just the game and use your “Guitar Hero” controller. (Sorry Sony fans, but your controllers aren’t interchangeable.) But since there are no compatible drums on the market for any system, if you want the full “Rock Band” experience, you're going to have to shell out for the whole bundle.

To play the game’s guitar licks, you’ll fret (or press) buttons on its neck and strum (by flicking a lever) in time with the music and the colored markers that roll down the screen. This action will feel completely familiar to anyone who has played the “Guitar Hero” titles before. In fact, both “Rock Band” and the original “Guitar Hero” were developed by the same company, Harmonix.

The game’s singing component works a lot like Konami’s “Karaoke Revolution” (which was also developed by Harmonix), with words flowing across the top of the screen, and a pointer to indicate when to sing as well as if you’re sharp or flat. While the more difficult levels will demand that you be precisely in tune, the game is pretty forgiving on the easiest level. Even those who truly can’t sing in real life will be able to join in and have some fun.

I really want to get a 360 and this game. Sounds like a blast!!

It's pretty damn fun, and ADDICTING! I used to love playing the guitar (on the GH series), and now I can't get enough of the drums! It's so much fun

How much room do those drums take up? It does look very interesting, but quite expensive.

Ever seen one of those electronic drum kits? I'd say it's about 3, 3-1/2ft wide, 1 1/2ft deep, and can be adjusted to stand anywhere from 3ft to 4 1/2 ft tall.
