I thought the HS was good because it covers about 90% of the cards parts. As it turns out the voltage regulation module is not covered as it's stuck in one of the corners around the fan. It overheats and causes stability problems. I'm still bickering with Athlon who handles the Sapphire RMAs over it.

I've always had issues with Sapphire's fans and what not. Replaced all of mine and my friend's. Anyway, I'm not too sure who's the "EVGA" for ATI/AMD. Sorry to hear about your issues :(

Re: If you're looking for a 1950 Pro, steer away from Sapphire
I thought I was in good shape buying from the BBA maunfacturer but no. Every ATi card I've had before this was a BBA. Anyone know if the BBA 1950P is the same configuration (when it was available)? Pic here... http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...cture=SAPPHIRE

Re: If you're looking for a 1950 Pro, steer away from Sapphire
i've got a x1950pro from sapphire and never had a single problem with it, doesn't overheat or anything, nor with x800 from them too, not sure what people are doing, hell ive never had a major hardware failure yet with my rig.. makes me wonder sometimes weather or not people dont look after thier rigs or im just lucky with hardware..

edit: just realized you're talking about the pci-e version? maybe that range is different, mine are the agp 512mb version and they seem to be perfectly fine.. ill have to double check whenever i end up upgrading to pci-e now.

That is calm. You should see when I get pissed.

but anyways back to the 1950, from what ive read it seems to be the sapphire version of the pci-e card thats giving out problems.. the agp car, the one i have as never failed me, the only thing that as was the recent ati drivers that borked agp users.

Which seems weird to me, from what I've seen the HSF on the PCIe is the same as on those other cards. I'm the same way about my setup, everything's clean inside, cables tucked out of the airflow, no dust etc.

Re: If you're looking for a 1950 Pro, steer away from Sapphire
Back when I was using ATi cards (9600PRO, 9800XT [forgot I even had this one, lol], and an X800PRO), I preferred the PowerColor.
9600PRO - Sapphire
9800XT - PowerColor
X800PRO - BBAThe real hell is your life gone wrong.
