I have a slight problem, it's more of an annoyance actually. I can choose only 1440x900 (native) 1280x1024 1152x864 1024x768 etc. In Vista however, I can pick say 1280x800, 1280x720, etc.... tons more resolutions. I know I've seen them before on XP. Just a bit annoying, I was wanting to test resolutions and have none to choose from that don't stretch the crap out of everything. Anyone know how to get them back? I've tried different driver sets, installing updated monitor drivers, using the plug and play driver, all without success. Thanks!

Re: Resolutions missing XP
It could be the monitor it's self.

Re: Resolutions missing XP
No problems with Linux and Vista, so I'm rolling in that it's XP's fault. Hmm...

Re: Resolutions missing XP
Ya I got this problem too. nVidia control panel recognizes all my monitors by name, but the display properties just calls them 'plug and play' monitors (I have 3 :cool
. I think this is where the problem is... On prev installs Ive been able to choose other resolutions in game and for desktop (in my case I want 1440x900; naitve is 1680). But Im stuck with your situation.
Try updating your monitor drivers to the actual drivers for your monitor so that in display properties it doesn't say 'plug and play monitor'. I'm just too lazy to worry about it for myself and my hardware is fine to run 1680.System Specifications:
Seasonic S12 430W PSU
AMD X2 4200+ w/2GB PC4200 Dual Channel
eVGA Geforce 8800 GTS 640MB w/Gateway FPD2185W
SB Audigy 2 w/1000W Logitech Z-5500
3DMarks: 10845 @ '05, 7299 @ '06

Re: Resolutions missing XP
Tossed the old X1600XT back in, bam, all of them are back in XP. Anyway, still can't figure out how to get them back in XP on the 7800. Vista has them, but the 7800 Vista suck. All I want is 1280x800 in XP on the 7800 to play Crysis and UT3

Re: Resolutions missing XP
try playing in your native rez w/everything on low and see if you get a decent frame rate. I have a more powerful GPU than you do but I found that turning all the light effects and whatnot down really boosted frame rate. crysis is a game you want the resolution for anyways because you have to make a lot of precise shots!

Re: Resolutions missing XP
The Volumetric shadows or whatever being set to low really increased performance. Still needing to work on the scaling issue.
