I've had the 7.1 S750 Creative gigaworks for a while now (2 years), however i killed my subwoofer (which has all the connections)... So i must replace it, sadly i can't be arsed with a 7.1 system, for the past 6 months i stored 2 speakers anyway.
So i am looking at the Logitech Z-5500 Digital speakers to replace them, not only do they look sexy but the inbuilt Opticle port will be a VERY nice change too.
I will do a review on the product it self as well just because i hardly do hardware reviews.

Awesome! I think you will love them. My buddy has the lower model the Z-5300 and those are some great speakers.... the sub on these suckers is so intense it reminds me of my cars system

Look forward to your review as i find them better than 90% of any review i read.

Re: Getting new speaker system
Yeah.. if it was not for the fact i don't have a place to put speakers like that i would get them.... ClubIT has the z-5500 for only $50 with a rebate... well they did have that deal... i don't know if its still going... but it was/is a steal.

Set it all up took a million pics for the review with my el crapo camera
, first impressions loaded the Transformers HD-DVD and coller me impressed. I had the best 7.1 Speakers you can buy with Creative, but these just blow them out of the water.
The input selector thing is about 500x better, the subwoofer is awesome, and the speakers are so sexy and are so crisp.
Will get started on the review on the weekend.

Re: Getting new speaker system
I love mine and have loved them for quite a while now
. On a side note, you can remove the black face plates from the speakers so you can see the speakers, silver and all. That's what I did, thinkin' about putting the covers back on though, little bit of change I guess, lol.
The real hell is your life gone wrong.

Speakers are one of my next upgrades. Even though mine sound great as they are for a 5.1 system.

Re: Getting new speaker system
is that a skin for your premium 360? or did you get the elite? If i remember correctly you only had the premium. Very nice setup... you will enjoy hours of crazy sound goodness from the z-5500... if it was not for living in an apt. i would consider them.... but as it is they are just to powerful for my place.

Re: Getting new speaker system
Nice, I've been wanting to replace my Logitech Z560's for ages. Looking forward to this review.
I looked at the 5300's a few times, but just don't want to take a hit in power and nice features that the 5500's have.

Re: Getting new speaker system
Well... as far as sound goes the z-5300 are awesome. Bestbuy has a demo set up for them but i found that to be a horrible representation of the speakers. Actually hooked to a pc was amazing. But if you really want the features then grab the z-5500... cant go wrong with either set.

(360 launch), i replaced the whole case with a black one a year ago, and it has a see through X at the top with blue LED's underneath, also replaced the 360 fans.

They might do the job, but I'm worried about the power. They are barely 150W RMS or soemthing right? I mean, these Z560's are 480W RMS. It just feels totally wrong to drop in power so much, even though I have never turned my volume up more than 1/2 way.

Re: Getting new speaker system
It's totally up to you. My buddy has the z-5300 and he lives with his parent's in the basement.... he cant even go a few clicks of volume before they can hear him. This is with the bass turned all the way down also.

The Z-5300's are 280W RMS. 2 x 35.25W front, 2 x 35.25W rear, 39W center, and 100W for the sub.

Re: Getting new speaker system
I got Z-5500's last christmas... they are a lot of BOOM for the buck. I really dig the remote controller and there's lots of good connections to the console for diff types of input. I may use them someday for a home theater even.
Only complaint I have is that without a current/voltage regulator or w/e you get pops and crackles when other high-energy appliances turn on in the house. Or if, for example, I turn on a florescent desk light in my room or a guitar amp it makes a big boom.
Anyways, I recommend these speakers, the sound quality is fantastic.System Specifications:
Seasonic S12 430W PSU
AMD X2 4200+ w/2GB PC4200 Dual Channel
eVGA Geforce 8800 GTS 640MB w/Gateway FPD2185W
SB Audigy 2 w/1000W Logitech Z-5500
3DMarks: 10845 @ '05, 7299 @ '06
