Good news for the $350 buyers- that price range gets a performance boost, this will likely be THE card to have at that price point. It seems that Nvidia is planning another GeForce 8800 GTS SKU with more stream processors. This is to widen the performance gap between the upcoming 8800 GT and 8800 GTS as 8800 GT is coming too close and it might hurt the sales of 8800 GTS.

Looks to me like NVIDIA is set to put the stake in old Count ATi's heart. A higher performance 8800GTS should end any "2900XT vs 8800GTS" questions. A 512MB single slot 8800GT performing at near old 8800GTS levels for $250-$300 should end any interest in the very loud, very power hungry, dual slot 2900 Pros. However Nvidia might still further increase the core clock depending on how Radeon 2950PRO performs. The reference score provided by Nvidia to the partners is 10.8K in 3DMark06 or to be exact 10769. The launch date is said to be brought forward to October 29th.
GTXs and Ultras will keep owning the high end undisputed.
I see a bleak Christmas season ahead for ATi.![]()

It's really not looking good for ATI. I mean NVIDIA obviously able to produce a heck of allot more and allot better cards is just killing ATI.

Re: New NVIDIA cards on way, from VRZone
So a rumor about fans from the Inquirer constitutes doom for NVIDIA these days? I see.

So let's see, as of Q2 of this year, NVIDIA had 43% of the desktop market while ATi wallowed at 23%. Ouch. Sadder still for ATi was their -19% growth compared to NVIDIA's +82.9% growth.
I don't see any "killing" being done by ATi, unless maybe it's to their own business. Two can play this game Darth, but there can be only one. ;)

Darth man, don't start trying to crap all the NVIDIA threads with your nonsense.
You believe what you want. But in the long run we as NVIDIA users and many ATI user know that NVIDIA is kicking the crap out of ATI.
Oh and I stopped using info from the inquirer for good reasons.

I hope you won't delete Darth's account and I hope he'll stay. Darth loves his ATi, and there's nothing wrong with being a fan for the "home team" whether they're winning or losing.

Re: New NVIDIA cards on way, from VRZone
The debates are good and I've been watching the "The Real Deal: 2900XT VS 8800GTS" thread, at least to make sure it just stays a debate and not a flame fest
But to that extent, I would like to see said debate stay in that thread on not pulled into this one as well.
The real hell is your life gone wrong.
