    Bioshock | GEFORCE3D REVIEW

Today we are going to take a close look at Bioshock to see if this game is worth purchasing.

BioShock is a first person shooter with some differences, most notably your ability to hack systems, use plasmids (powers gained through genetic manipulation), upgrade weapons, and gain more Adam (one of the currencies in Rapture) to buy upgrades to further enhance your character. Sound familiar? That's because the same people who made BioShock also created System Shock 2, and this game is it's spiritual successor.

You play as Jack, a passenger of a Mid-Atlantic flight which crashes into the sea. Upon surfacing and finding out that you are the only survivor, you look up and see a lighthouse shaped building in the middle of the ocean. After entering the building, you find a bathysphere (transport vessel) which takes you to where the game really starts, the city of Rapture. Rapture is an underwater city built to escape the judgment of man, where morality has no place, and where science has no limits.

Don't forget Cyko, if it wasn't for his English skills my review would sound like the ramblings of a retard.

did u guys ever see those pics of the dx9 vs dx10 comparison shots, there was sooo little difference. like just some light shading. barely noticable, opposed to Lost Planet..DX10 was a giant difference
I want the gun in my hand and the blood on the walls, kick some ass and grab life by the balls.

Yep, i was going to do a DirectX9 vs DirectX10 in Bioshock but my DirectX 9 in that game was fucked up at the time.

As for lost planet i don't think there was THAT mich difference sure there was some (more than bioshock), but with the latest patch it made the gap larger.

Call of Juarez now that has a huge difference between the two (which i compared), sure most of it could of been done in 9 too. But they didn't so the difference is pretty large.

yeah, not much difference in the pics, but the performace hit was bad. This is a good game and hopefully patche dwill be better. I want to see more video card races!

That's a nice review, it covers things slightly differently than other reviews (on other sites) IMO, and sets things out more easily to digest.
