That's awesome! We're barely about to get cable internet where I live (nowhere) so I can't even imagine... What speeds are you running VW_Factor?

Just ran this one. Not sure the server was the fastest, but it was the closest to me. Not bad for being in the BFE country.

Re: Now that's what I call speed!!
I get 13,269 down/1,173 up at a local ISP's speedtest server (not mine, but located only a few miles away) only 6-8k down at other servers and 400-1k up.
As for real-life d/l speed, seems like right around 600KB/s is the average, but good servers at non-peak hours I can get over 1MB/s. Last time I downloaded the ~40MB Catalyst driver package in under 30 seconds, that was pretty nice. Sustained 1.5MB/s IIRC.My rig: Dell (meh) P4 530, 2.5GB RAM, HIS X1650 XT iSilenceII 256MB

Re: Now that's what I call speed!!
I generally get between 9000 kb/s and 12000 kb/s in any speed test I take. Upload is around 750 kb/s. It gets the job done.

Re: Now that's what I call speed!!
I have road runner and tend to get 9800k down and 980k up. Are there any tweaks to get 12k + like some of you guys... my internet is fast with speeds up to 1.5MB a sec with sites like Nvidia.... but i would not mind doing a little mod/tweak project on my connection speed.

Does it only work with comcast? I would love to get those speeds.

TCPoptimizer works for any connection. It's not a program that runs in the background, it does some reg editing and wow it actually made a huge difference.

Re: Now that's what I call speed!!
I would say you are above average. Most people only have a 6000 down and 500 up.

Re: Now that's what I call speed!!
It runs in the background to mod the TCP settings of Windows? Why not just a set it and forget it? Anyway, seeing as this application modifies stuff for windows, does this stuff work, when you are behind a router? Seeing that the router does the talkin with Comcast.

Re: Now that's what I call speed!!
From what I see it was a program that runs once and changes more than one setting. As for if this would change with a router in the mix, good question. I have no idea as my PC is the router.
