    Recommendations V1.1

Ok, so my X1600XT has bit the dust (one that I got during a chat with ATI). First, the fan died, so I replaced it with a GX710. Cool, works great! Anyway, now I'm getting memory errors (DVD acceleration even causes a BSOD) from the vid card itself. After my brief emails with ATI, they also believe it's a hardware problem. I'd list my troubleshooting steps, but then this post would be a page long.

So, I need a replacement that doesn't cost more than $200 really. I'm not much of a gfx whore and primarily use the computer to play WoW and Oblivion. 1440x900 is my monitor's native res, and that's about the same pixel area as 1280x960. AA is a must tho. What's your experiences with way... X1900 series & 7800/7900's?

Plays your games excellently with AA and AF.

Just wondering, how's the AF looking with the new drivers? That's the thing I liked best about the X1 series, HQ AF, no more shimmering in World of Warcraft... There's a Sapphire X1950XT 256MB for about $180, but from past experience, I always have to replace the cooling thus shooting the price over $210 total.

I was an early adopter of this series, and thus, got kinda the short end of the stick as far as drivers went early on. At first I was disappointed in the GQ. About 4 months and some drivers later, this card really came into its prime, with IQ that arguably was just as good if not better than ATIs offerings, and was running faster than what ATI offered.

I would go off and post screens and all that, however.. Simply put, I would just be beating a dead horse really. Its a damn good card, and it will not disappoint.

I'm looking at benchmarks while fapping. Maybe I'll get back into BF2 even now that I can run it with full details
