ATI Are they off their rocket?

    Eh, wtf?

    http://www.alienware.com/microsite/a...00-series.aspx

Scroll down to the "benchmarks" and you'll see what I mean...

† Alienware does not guarantee performance numbers. Performance will vary depending upon configuration. All performance tests run on an Alienware ALX: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 @ 4.0GHz, 4GB DDR3 Memory @ 1600MHz, Dual ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2.
You know what, going by that little fine-print statement there, I'm betting their bs benchmarks are using THAT setup and then the ones they're using for the other benches are from another source, probably using a weaker setup than that system.

Nice inconsistency in ATI marketing scheme.

You can see the information here > http://game.amd.com/us-en/unlock_rad...870x2.aspx?p=4

and what the hell do the numbers on the left represent...the difference in FPS? Because if so, !

I bet they do this because people don't read the fine print and get shafted in the end. So far I have seen more than one benchy that has a disclaimer saying it may not be correct.

Well the 4870x2 IS faster than a single GTX280 when it works, but that graph is misleading...

That chart may well be right. I bet I could make a chart like that comparing the 4870X2 (a Crossfire solution) to the GTX280.

You'd just have to find games/settings that scale well with Crossfire, and places in the game that put single GPU at a disadvantage.

Just funny how they are playing it out to be.
