New Ntune released as of the 25th of April 2007

    Overview:

NVIDIA® nTune is the ultimate utility for accessing, monitoring, and adjusting your system components, including temperature and voltages with clear, user-friendly control panels. Overclock your system for highest performance or underclock it for near silent operation. All changes are performed within the Microsoft® Windows® interface – enabling full functionality without the need to make changes in the BIOS and reboot your system.

    Installation Notes:

    * This application package replaces all previous versions of the NVIDIA System Utility or NVIDIA nTune. Earlier versions of the application should be uninstalled and the system rebooted prior to installation of this package.
    * Support for the advanced features of the NVIDIA nTune requires vendor specific setup files that are not included with this package. Please contact your motherboard or system vendor for the correct files to enable this functionality.

    Release Notes:

    * This is a complete, updated release of the NVIDIA nTune. You are not required to install a previous version of this application before installing the latest version.

I'm currently using it and I duno what it may have installed. but in 2142 some studdering (best I can explain it) has stopped. I also see more detail in game. Still not sure if it's this that had anything to do with it. I will say that my room mates computer locked up on him every time he went in game since he installed this. Not sure what he did for settings and I am sure he fubard them up cause he's not that bright when it comes to working with stuff like that. He had an 8800GTX BTW.

As far as knowing if it is better than RivaTuner. I will have to do some tests between them.

I really have never found that I needed to use one of the tuner programs. So I can't just come out and say yes or no.

I dont know that I would switch anyways... I really like the On Screen Display of all my temps and fan speeds and memory usage that rivatuner provides .
