    Re: 7950gt gx2 question??

The GX2 is 2 cards in one. Only one PCIE slot is needed for the card. If you buy 2 of the 7950gx2 cards you can run them in SLI. So basicly you would be running 4 cards. I have the gx2 in my system right now (not yet another so no SLI yet) and it is a great card. Just make sure to have plenty of air flow for the case cause it gets hot.

Here is a pic to show you the cards in sli on a full ATX mobo...I'm sure you have looked it up. But some others may not.

Just for clarification's sake, a single GX2 card still utilizes SLI even though it's considered a single card. Therefore, you will need a motherboard that supports SLI if you plan on running a single GX2.

Edit: looks like I was wrong. The GX2 cards do NOT require an SLI motherboard to operate. I apologize for spreading mis-information.

Yep, there are a bunch of single slot boards that support GX2s. That is one of the things that is best about it- brought 7900GT SLi performance to a lot of people who lacked SLi boards.

I'm still running one in my son's PC, coupled with a 4600+ it's still a pretty formidable gaming rig.
