XP bugs after formating

I recently formatted my computer and ended up with a few bugs. I have no sound when I try to plan an mp3 file with winamp i get an error msg saying: "Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error Code: 88780078". My screen starts to lag when I scroll down on IE (it makes a flip book effect). I also lag when I hover a window around the screen. I never had these prolems before formating. Can someone help?

This is a driver issue from the sounds of it. You need to get the latest driver for your sound card and video card. If you have a creative sound card use your cd that came with it. If you have an NVIDIA vid card go to www.NVIDIA.com and get your drivers there.
