Released tonight to developers, testers, and reviewers under an information embargo. The drivers everyone has been waiting for for vista and DX10 are just about public.

    Hey Microsoft!
Want to send me a copy of Vista?

Hey NVIDIA, or EVGA, or XFX!
    I could use a 8800!!
Q: What do you think about most during the day?
A: Women. They are a complete mystery.

Their current drivers for Vista I think lack SLI.

Of course, my beta license for Vista no longer works, so I can really only do minor testing of it (before the activation thingy).

If SLI is coming to Vista, I'd like to do a comparo of the performance differences between a fresh install of XP and a fresh install of Vista with 3DMark and the like.

Edit : Uber, you forgot BFG.

SLI is enabled in this newer driver set. I'll report back later with findings.

Well.. SLI is enabled in the driver, and is selectable. Upon selecting SLI, screen blanks a few times, and the machine asks for a restart.

Upon restart, I ran 3DMark06 and just thought to myself, damn. This isnt right. I went back and checked it. SLI was NOT enabled.

Tried again, with the same result. SLI will not enable. Perhaps someone has some insight here?

Re: NVIDIA Windows Vista Driver version 100.54

Come to find out that SLI isnt working in these drivers. The way the FAQ reads, makes it sound like its just the 8800 cards that SLI isnt working for yet.

Sounds like the 8800 has a ways to go before a lot of stuff is going to be working correctly with Vista. Sad, that a product that is "this kick ass" isnt working 100% with Vista. On the other hand, maybe its all that DRM bullshit that is required to be put into drivers that is making things a little more of a pain in the ass.

I mean, I know that the stuff has to be integrated into the driver fairly deeply, but enough to make SLI not work, or OpenGL for 8800 to be broken? I dunno..

    All I can do speculate.

What about changes and fixes in this version? How about performance of this drivers in DX9 games?
