7950 gx2 v.s. 7900 gtx SLI

i was just wondering if anyone has a 7950 or a pair of 7900 gtz because the bench marks i have are way to static so i just want to kno what you think about your cards

hard to say because of the benchamrks i have seen are very static and 1 7950 is basicly 2 card

Sure the new drivers support quad sli.

o sweet last i heard they didn't trust us it was to "complacted" but now i think ill buy a pair of those

I have a XFX XXX GX2 and a reference GX2.

I have not done any benching with either, I'm waiting on a new psu as the A8N 32 board I bought for them didn't work out with my BFG 650 PSU. (PCIE cables are too short)

However, the XXX GX2 compares very favorably to 7900GTX SLI-

The specific GX2 model Rollo was referring to is clocked much higher than reference clocks, 570/1600 to be precise.

Yep the XFX XXX is a powerhouse GX2, a force to be reckoned with.

I've been playing some 19X12 4X16X High Q Quake4 and Oblivion with one in SLI with a reference 7950, and am duly impressed.

Heh- that would put some unparallelled power in your box! I'm thinking you would be able to play UT2007 at the fine "Holy Sh*t" settings this fall and still be owning the game. That should be about as close to "future proof" as you can get as well- no matter what the next gen parts are, it seems unlikely to me they'll match what would essentially be four 7900GTXs working in SLI.
