As CPUs are a LOOOOONNNGGGG way from being able to do the work of dedicated graphics cards, I'm guessing this is a case of Intel trying to steer developers toward ways of coding that will be friendly to upcoming integrated graphics solutions.
My wife only plays "Solitaire" on the computer, this will probably work out for her.....

i hope this doesnt mean that games are gonna more cpu dependant such as crisis. i mean gears, call of duty, doom 3. all those games are gpu dependant and they run absolutly fine

Intel won't shift the market to ray tracing anytime soon, they're just trying to. They're in a bad position now as people are starting to realize how irrelevant the cpu has become for gaming and everyday use.

I've got a new Phenom board and a 9850 BE on the way, givin' AMD some love in these $1000+ for an unlocked Intel Quad times.
