Re: Should P&R be removed?
I don't know why everyone is afraid of P&R discussions. I know that many people have many different views and takes on life but i think as a whole we can respect other peoples opinions and if there is a particular argument between 2 or more people that gets "out-of-hand", we can just ask them plain and simple to take it to the PMs.
Reality is, P&R shit will be talked about a posted regardless of its own board

Re: Should P&R be removed?
Not afraid of P&R, but a "no-holds-barred" general discussion forum would probably be the best way to go (with members choosing to join that forum) as Lupine has suggested.

Re: Should P&R be removed?
hehe poor word choice as I know no one here is afraid really of a P&R forum. but rather from an admins point of view the myriad of problems faced with such a forum makes most people, from what I have seen/read, just not want to deal with it. Personally, I like Lupine's idea very much as well. It would be nice to have such a forum where we would have at least 1 mod checking it half-hourly at the least just to make sure its not en fuego. Other than that, people could moderate themselves on such a board as they, as you said, choose to join that particular group in the first place. Beyond that all a mod would have to do is tell those getting a little more personal or particular with 1 or 2 other members to take it to PMs

Re: Should P&R be removed?
Yes having the option to allow members to join like rage does is defenatly better. But until I get the VB forums going...were stuck with this. Another reason why we are switching!!

Thread is still live & link is working for me?

As to self moderation, that is the key, and IMHO that is what generally happens when the rules get relaxed. If someone turns into mega-jackass people are going to slap 'em around a little bit. Again, I suggest everyone take a gander at Elite Bastard's no holds barred forum for a example. Granted, I don't know what issues they run into over there since I rarely visit but, from an outsider's perspective, it seems to be a relatively entertaining forum rather than a 2-3 topic hatefest aka R3D P&R.
EDIT: I added another option because ... I can!

Re: Should P&R be removed?
Could remake the old rage3d board where you just screamed at eachother with no moderation.

Re: Should P&R be removed?
lol. I like your idea Lupine. It's sound and I think could work if intigated on a smaller board such as this. As the board grows it may need to be looked at down the road, but a general forum with freedom of speech beyond personal addresses i think would be a wonderful idea. u might consider making it private for members but still a place open to all like this would be cool imho and easy to manage if done and handled correctly

Re: Should P&R be removed?
People in R3D's P&R are still retards, even though they have to sign up to get in.
