Microsoft officially denies internal HD-DVD drive.

    http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/11285/...-HD-DVD-Drive/

Saw a few stories online about an Xbox 360 with a built-in HD DVD drive: not true. We have no plans to release an Xbox 360 with an internal HD DVD. What we showcased at E3 was an external HD DVD drive, and we're sticking with that.
Now this dosen't really effect me as i have a HD-DVD player already, (Toshiba HD-A1) However do you think they should move to internal, providing only movies used the HD-DVD format?

I think when the ps3 launches, scrap the core version of the 360. Make the premium version we have now for the same price as the core and call that the core version, and make a new premium with the same stuff as the premium but with a added HD-DVD drive included.

that is a good idea but i don't think microsoft will do it forto reasons. 1. microsoft sucks so they won't do it 2. it will cost more and MS is money hunger monster

It's not a wise idea to release a new version with a HD-DVD drive in the machine. What this will do is split the userbase and piss people off. It will also go against their whole ideology with the 360, ie. you can 'upgrade' the lower-end machine to be exactly like the higher-end machine. You have a choice in what you want. Not to mention the costs of making the drive internal will keep the price of the system too high for the forseeable future.

An external drive is the way to go, and thankfully that's what they're doing. They give people a choice and can also remain competitive with the PS3 in the highdef movie arena (that is if Blu-Ray ever takes off, which it has failed to do thus far.. we'll have to see how it pans out with the PS3). Now, making the current premium system the core version and releasing a new premium system with a HD-DVD drive inside while having the external drive as well for an upgrade option might work. However, I think that's making things a little too complicated. They need to stay focused on lowering the costs of the machines they have now and passing these savings onto the consumer.

I hope this was a bad attempt at sarcasm.

I really do hope. There is little to no bad news about HD-DVD, it's Blu-Ray which is getting bad press.

Blu-rrry is 2x the price for a less picture quality of HD-DVD.

As i said i really do hope you was being sarcastic or you got them confused. Otherwise me and you outside at 5pm :p. JK! :p
